Membership

MEATE offers two levels of Membership: Full Membership and Associate Membership.

Full Membership in MEATE is open to theological seminaries, Bible colleges, institutes of theological studies, programs for theological education by extension and distance learning institutions whose primary base is in the Middle East and North Africa, or whose training benefits primarily the Church in that region, provided that they:

  • Agree to abide by the MEATE Constitution and MEATE’s stated purposes.

  • Accept the MEATE Doctrinal Statement and the Statement of Faith of the World Evangelical Alliance (Article 3)

  • Duly submit the MEATE Membership Application form.

  • Be in good terms with the evangelical community of their context. They should also have positive and collaborative relationships with neighboring theological schools.

  • Have clear goals and purposes related to evangelical theological education, and not belong or be linked to any political party.

  • Pay the annual membership fee.

  • Are admitted into membership by a three-fourths (3/4) majority vote of the members present or represented at the MEATE General Assembly.

  • Agree to send a representative to each MEATE General Assembly at their own expense.

    Full members of MEATE have the right to one vote only in the General Assembly.

    Associate Members of MEATE have a voice but not the right to vote. Associate membership is open to theological schools and other organizations concerned with evangelical theological education in the Middle East and North Africa region, but who do not meet all of the conditions for full membership. Associate membership shall require the following conditions:

  • Agreement to abide by the MEATE Constitution and MEATE’s stated purposes.

  • Acceptance of the MEATE Doctrinal Statement and the Statement of Faith of the World Evangelical Alliance (Article 3)

  • Duly submit the Associate Membership Application form.

  • Payment of the annual membership fee.

  • Admission into associate membership by a simple majority vote of the members present at the MEATE General Assembly.
